Sven Dischner is one of a kind. His distinctive style and welcoming character manifests in every detail found in his studio at Tussmannstr. 70 in 40477, Düsseldorf. Every decision made reflects his personality and attention to his craft.
He has found his profession through passion and has been in various TV shows and documentaries which highlight his work. After a stint on the famous Kiez in Hamburg his new studio in Düsseldorf was meant to be introduced and highlighted in the best possible way.
When Sven approached me we didn't hesitate but lean on his outgoing nature and sense for sophistication when it comes to what's important and how to fuse tradition and quality tools and craft with each other. We quickly developed and highlighted striking visual key elements: his leather tool belt / pouch and his vest resembling him which will work on virtually any outfit. Paired with some particulars like the butcher's hooks to rest machines on the wall, leather apron in the background, his rings or antlers mounted on furniture, this photo shoot was special and immediately made Sven stand out against the rest of the competition in his field already. No exaggerated chic, just honest and proud work.
As this job emphasized both on portraits of Sven, documenting his work on clients and introducing the new studio I chose the visual language to be more Editorial than classic headshots and portraits. That's why I incorporated playful elements and depth into each picture instead of typical portrait poses.

Attention to details is why we made this image the hero shot for the campagin. Even without revealing his face, he made various accessoires and tools fashionable objects that turned into his signature style.
